v35

My darkrooms have been in many places over the years

Starting with a couple of planks over my mum's bath then in the loft. A move into a garden shed shared with a family of mice and a few spiders followed

The brief luxury of an unused bedroom, soon gave way to the current location in my garage. This has given me unlimited electrical power and running water.

Having recently returned to 35mm the majority of my negatives are printed using the Leitz V35 enlarger seen in this picture. It is equipped with a 'Multigrade head' but I prefer to use under-lens filters as many of the printing techniques I use are more easily managed this way.

My second enlarger is the superb DeVere 504 with multigrade head.   I use this for all negatives larger than 35mm (up to 5 x 4.)

All of my prints are made on Ilford MG4 paper, usualy Resin Coated, my use of fibre papers has declined as a result of concerns over the high water volumes to wash these.

Many of my prints are toned in thiocarbamide [ sepia ] or selenium for colour change and or preservation.

I offer a service to photographers who choose not to process or print.     [ see services page ]

PLEASE   CONTACT ME and I will mail you prices etc.
